William Blair & Company equity research analysts received three "Best on the Street" awards in The Wall Street Journal’s 20th annual analyst survey. The awards recognize the top three analysts ranked by industry sector. William Blair's analysts have now received a combined 14 "Best on the Street Awards" in the past three years.

The following William Blair analysts were included in The Wall Street Journal’s 2012 “Best on the Street” rankings:
- Katherine Xu – No. 2 in Biotechnology
- Brian Drab – No. 2 in Heavy Machinery & Materials
- Nate Brochmann – No. 3 in Business & Industrial Services
William Blair's universe of equity research coverage comprises more than 550 growth companies across the following industry sectors: consumer; financial services and technology; global industrial infrastructure; global services; healthcare; and technology, media, and communications.
The results of the "Best on the Street" survey were published in the May 10 issue of The Wall Street Journal. The survey recognized the top three analysts in 44 industry sectors, based on their performance during 2011. Analysts' skill in picking stocks was measured using recommendation-performance scores calculated by FactSet Research Systems on the basis of the estimated total return, including price change and dividends of each eligible stock an analyst covered in an industry.
