Our infrastructure investment banking professionals provide tax-exempt financing services for a diverse range of clients. William Blair & Company served as senior managing underwriter for 40 Illinois bond issues in 2008, raising approximately $555 million for capital improvements and refunding purposes. Overall, we participated as senior manager, co-manager, structuring agent, financial advisor, or swap advisor in over 87 transactions, helping our public, educational, and nonprofit clients raise nearly $2 billion capital.
In 2008, our School District Team closed 30 school district financings for a total par amount of over $287 million. The team served as senior managing underwriter for the bonds.
Our Credit Tenant Lease Team successfully closed 9 transactions totaling about $87 million in 2008. William Blair & Company acted as financial advisor and placement agent on these financings and assisted in all aspects of the transactions.
Our Corporate Debt Team continues to be a leading resource for companies seeking debt capital. The team assisted companies in raising more than $1.2 billion in debt capital in 2008.
