Edgar D. Jannotta (Ned)

Edgar D. Jannotta, chairman of William Blair & Company and its executive committee, joined the firm as an associate in 1959 and has worked in various capacities since. Jannotta, who served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University in 1953 and received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1959. Jannotta serves as a director on the boards of Aon Corporation, Com-Ed, Molex Incorporated, and Sloan Valve Company. In addition, he plays an active role in several charitable organizations, including trusteeship at Rush-Presbyterian-St Luke’s Medical Center, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Historical Society, and Chicago Foundation for Education. Jannotta, life trustee and former chairman of the University of Chicago and The Chicago Initiative, the university's fundraising campaign, is also a past president of The Economic Club of Chicago and The Commercial Club of Chicago.
