Michelle R. Seitz

Michelle Seitz, CFA, is a member of William Blair & Company's executive committee and leads the firm’s Investment Management activities totaling over $58 billion in assets. In this role, she is directly responsible for William Blair & Company's largest business, which comprises Institutional Asset Management, Mutual Funds, and Private Wealth Management. With close to half of these assets invested outside the United States, William Blair is widely recognized for its global money management capabilities.

Michelle has more than 20 years of investment experience and held several leadership roles at William Blair & Company before taking over the Investment Management division in June 2001. Her previous experience includes senior portfolio management roles with Nationsbank in North Carolina and Concord Investment Company in Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University and became a chartered financial analyst in 1990.

Michelle serves as a Trustee and President for the William Blair Funds. She is an advisory board member of Indiana University’s Investment Management Academy in the Graduate School of Business. She is also a member of the Northwestern Memorial Foundation's Professional Council for Philanthropy, The Executives’ Club of Chicago, The Economic Club of Chicago, The Chicago Network, The President’s Circle of The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and the Investment Analyst Society of Chicago.

She is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has been profiled in Forbes magazine, Pensions and Investments, the Chicago Tribune, Crain's Chicago Business, the Chicago Sun-Times, Shareholder Value magazine, and a business book, "Investment Leadership," by James Ware.
