Corporate Finance Analyst Program

The Investment Banking Analyst Program in our Corporate Finance Department offers an opportunity for recent college graduates interested in investment banking to actively participate in this fast-paced and challenging industry. After an extensive four-week training program, analysts spend their first year as generalists. The generalist model allows new analysts to gain exposure to different industry groups and to a wide array of deals and senior bankers. After the generalist experience, analysts specialize in an industry group. Top performing analysts are offered third-year positions with increased responsibility. After a successful third year, an analyst may receive a promotion to associate.

Analysts are responsible for many critical job functions in the deal process such as financial analysis, due diligence, company research, and assisting in client and management meetings. Deal teams are structured to allow analysts a high level of direct contact with senior bankers and clients. Third-year analysts remain in their group and take on additional responsibility for projects, working at an associate level.

After completing the program, many analysts choose to go to business school, to a private equity firm, or pursue other finance-related positions.

Prospective candidates should be highly motivated, detail-oriented and team players. Although no specific major or concentration is required, William Blair & Company seeks individuals with excellent mathematical, computer, written and verbal communication skills. A general understanding of accounting and finance is beneficial.

If you would like to be considered for the Corporate Finance Analyst Program starting summer 2011, please submit your resume here.

This is a paid internship, and the top-performing summer analysts may be offered full-time positions commencing the following summer.
