What do you do for William Blair?

I am Head of West Coast Financial Sponsors Coverage at William Blair. This role entails serving Private Equity and Venture Capital clients based in the West Coast, and sourcing new business opportunities from them for our firm. New business opportunities can consist of sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory assignments, public equity offerings and private capital financings for my clients’ portfolio companies. In addition, I spear-head the firm’s India coverage activities. Prior to moving to our San Francisco office, I was a member of our cross-border corporate finance team based in London.

What is your educational and work background prior to William Blair?

I studied at Clare College, University of Cambridge where I earned my MA degree. I then went on the gain my degree in Medicine (MB ChirB), also at the University of Cambridge. Upon graduation, I practiced as a medical doctor in a variety of surgical and medical training roles at university teaching hospitals.

If you are driven, entrepreneurial and hard-working you can build a very successful career at William Blair, and the firm actively encourages you to take on additional responsibilities if you have proven that you have the capabilities – regardless at what stage you are in your career. In addition, we have so much momentum right now with our global growth and investment banking success that it is great time to be an integral member of the team. Finally, the caliber and quality of my team members across all departments of the firm means that I continue to enjoy working at Blair on a day-to-day basis, and I am driven to be part of our firm’s continued growth and success.

What has been your most interesting professional experience while working here?

My most interesting experience here was moving to our San Francisco office to further build and grow our West Coast banking capabilities and winning significant market share in advisory and underwriting assignments from the West Coast financial sponsor community, all during a period of more challenging economic times for the broader industry.
