About Garrett
Garrett Read joined William Blair in 2024 and is a managing director on the Private Shares Trading team based in Boston. In this role, Garrett partners with investors on portfolio optimization initiatives executing transactions to build positions and generate liquidity. Garrett’s focus on long-term relationships and deep understanding of how to thoughtfully navigate the secondary market have helped investors achieve successful outcomes across a broad range of market dynamics.
Before William Blair, Garrett helped build Addepar’s private market advisory services, facilitating secondary transactions and co-investment opportunities with leading family offices, wealth managers, and institutions. Before Addepar, he joined Forge Global in 2019 as a producer on its institutional team working closely with venture capital and investment management firms to source, structure, and complete trades in private company stock.
Garrett graduated from Tufts University in 2015 with a major in economics and resides in Saunderstown, Rhode Island, with his wife and son.
