About Becky
Becky Altman is a manager and philanthropic advisor on William Blair's Philanthropy and Sustainability team. In this role, she advises clients on strategic philanthropy, community investment, and social impact initiatives. Becky works with individuals, families, foundations, and nonprofit organizations to help advance their charitable goals and maximize impact.
Before joining William Blair, Becky was advisory lead at Crown Family Philanthropies, where she launched and led philanthropic advisory services designed to help family members achieve their charitable and social impact objectives. Prior to that, she served as director of development at A Better Chicago, leading fundraising and marketing efforts during a period of significant organizational growth while contributing to organizational strategy and operations.
Earlier in her career, Becky served as a Teach for America corps member in Memphis City Schools and held a development role with Northwestern University's Fiedler Hillel.
Becky received her B.A. in history from Boston University and her M.A. in public policy from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy. She is also a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®). Becky lives in Chicago with her husband and three children.
