Laura Coy is responsible for overseeing the William Blair Foundation, creating the firm’s integrated social investment strategy, and developing volunteer opportunities for employees to serve as leaders in their local community. Prior to William Blair, she was the senior manager of corporate social responsibility, public affairs manager, and senior corporate philanthropist for Grainger. While at Grainger, she initiated and designed their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and reports utilizing a cross functional leadership team and third party experts. Prior to working at Grainger, Ms. Coy worked for nonprofits including the National Alzheimer’s Association and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum where she learned the power of building public-private partnerships to advance key community, research and environmental initiatives. She is the board chair of the Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals, serves on the leadership committee at the Illinois Holocaust Museum, and supports several local nonprofits.
