About Soheil
Soheil Esmailzadeh is the global head of technology and quantitative research at William Blair Investment Management. He is also a member of Investment Management’s executive leadership team. Soheil is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and coordination of all investment-related technology and quantitative initiatives across Investment Management.
Before joining the firm in 2025, he was chief investment officer and head of research at Vatic Labs in New York. Previously, Soheil held a variety of leadership roles focused on quantitative research and technology at Magnetar Capital. Before that, he worked at Barclays Global Investors and Citadel Investment Group.
Soheil received a B.S. in physics from the University of California at Los Angeles, an M.S. in physics and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Stanford University.
