Larry Gilbert is a vice president and wealth advisor with William Blair’s Private Wealth Management group. He joined William Blair from the Private Banking North America Business of Credit Suisse Securities. He previously served at HighTower Advisors as one of the firm’s earliest partners and for 10 years at Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management. Before his years in private wealth, Larry worked for eight years as a professional market maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Larry received his M.B.A. from the Booth School at the University of Chicago and a B.A. in economics from Pennsylvania State University.
Currently, Larry serves as the chairman of the board of directors for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, is an active member of the Golden Angels Network at Marquette University, and is an advisor to Marquette’s Kohler Business Center. In the past, he has also served as a director on the Next Generation Board of the United States Holocaust Museum and as a director of the Starlight Children’s Foundation, once serving as its chairman. Larry lives with his wife and two daughters in Highland Park. In his spare time, he is an active competitor and has completed several marathons, Ironman triathlons, and numerous other endurance events.
