About Art
Art Paterson, managing director, is a wealth advisor in William Blair’s Private Wealth Management group, where he brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He focuses on addressing the unique wealth management needs of business owners and corporate executives, a dynamic group that often faces complex and competing financial demands while balancing their professional and personal goals and commitments. As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor, Art offers valuable insights into the complex issues business owners encounter when growing, transitioning, or exiting their businesses. He creates custom tailored planning and investment strategies for his clients, their families, and businesses, catering to both short- and long-term needs.
Before joining William Blair in 2017, Art was a first vice president in Global Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch, where he spent 14 years.
Art graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in marketing. Some of his hobbies include coaching youth sports, playing golf and competing in Ironman triathlons.
