Steve Jefferis, managing director, is a wealth advisor with William Blair Private Wealth Management. With a remarkable 45-year career in financial services, he has built a reputation for managing wealth with discipline, protecting client assets, and always putting people first.

Throughout his career, he has been driven by a simple philosophy: show up, work hard, and help people. He is known for being relationship-driven, always available, and dedicated to serving clients of every background, asset level, and life stage. Taking care of people—and doing it the right way—has been the cornerstone of his work.

Before joining William Blair, Steve was a senior vice president of investments at Stifel for more than 25 years, opening its 43rd office in 1998. Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Wittenberg University, where he played football on the 1975 NCAA Division III National Championship team and the 1978 National Runner-Up team.

His leadership extends beyond the financial world. He is a former four-term Ohio Township Trustee, a former Rod & Gun Club President at the Athletic Club of Columbus, and an active member of the Wittenberg University Coaches Circle. Earlier in life, he was also elected class treasurer. Community service remains a strong priority. He volunteers with Let’s Feed Delaware and is an annual donor to People in Need in Delaware, Ohio. Outside the office, he enjoys hunting, fishing, playing tennis and golf, and staying connected to the outdoors and his community. Steve splits his time between Delaware, Ohio, and Fort Myers, Florida, and he has two daughters.
