About Will

Will Gatch is the director of finance for Private Wealth Management at William Blair. In this role, Will is responsible for managing the group’s profit and loss statement, and oversees PWM’s financial planning, which includes budgeting, short- and long-term forecasting, resource planning, vendor management, compensation, new business modeling, and data analytics to drive efficiencies across the group and its advisory teams. Additionally, PWM’s broader real estate strategy falls under his purview, and he has coordinated PWM’s expansion outside of the Chicago market. Before joining William Blair, he was a financial consultant with Accenture.

Will has a B.S., Masters of Professional Accountancy, and an M.B.A. from Elmhurst University, where he later returned as an adjunct professor in finance and accounting for both its graduate and undergraduate schools. A 15-year member of Team USA Karate, he is the chair of USA Karate’s Athlete Advisory Committee, a member of USA Karate’s Nominating and Governance Committee, and a world-ranked karate referee. Will lives with his wife in Chicago’s West Loop and enjoys weight training, golfing, and skiing.
