Beth Pickens, who helps lead William Blair’s investment banking coverage of the consumer sector, was named by Mergers & Acquisitions magazine as one of the 25 “Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A.”

Ms. Pickens, who joined William Blair in 2000 and speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish, has completed cross-border transactions involving several of the consumer sector’s most promising companies. According to the article, Ms. Pickens, who is a managing director in the firm’s London office, has “conducted deals involving consumer goods darlings Harry’s (the razor brand), Harrys of London (a footwear brand), and personal care lines Mio Skincare and Yes to Carrots.”

The list, which is part of a special report by Mergers & Acquisitions on women in deal-making, identifies 25 of “the best and the brightest female dealmakers, including: corporate dealmakers, private equity investors, investment bankers, lenders, attorneys, and other advisors.” The issue of the magazine also includes an article, “Closing the Gender Gap,” about efforts by William Blair and other firms to enhance recruiting and career development of female professionals.
