I’m here in Buenos Aires about one month ahead of the presidential elections. One of the surprise results from the primary elections in August was that Javier Milei emerged as the frontrunner. Although we think the election is wide open, many are focusing now on the policies that Milei has proposed to implement if he becomes president. The most controversial of which is he proposes to dollarize the economy. Whoever wins will face very challenging economic conditions in the beginning. The outlook for 2024 is looking a lot brighter than 2023 based on changes in policy and a stronger agricultural harvest than last year.
