To better assess the impact of GLP-1 medications, Sharon Zackfia, CFA, partner, and group head of the consumer sector, authored Restaurants and GLP-1s: Proprietary Survey Suggests Modest Impact on Restaurant Spending. The report examines how GLP-1 use influences eating habits, dietary preferences, restaurant visitation, and consumer spending.

Our survey suggests that even if GLP-1 adoption doubles over the next five years, the effect on restaurant sales growth would be modest, with limited impact on industry demand. We also believe restaurants are well positioned to adapt to evolving consumer preferences through menu, pricing, and portion-size adjustments.
