My first post-COVID research trip to Thailand was both refreshing and stimulating. It is clear that Thailand continues to experience reopening benefits, from domestic consumption to international tourism. I expect domestic consumption may normalize to some extent in 2023, yet international tourism will continue to rebound, with new tourists from the Middle East and Russia and returning ones from the U.S., Europe, and China. This trend should support the further growth of related industries in the future, including hotels and tourism medicine.
