I’m here is Istanbul, literally weeks ahead of the most important election for decades. President Erdogan has been in power for 20 years, but is his time coming to an end? The opposition have united behind one single candidate, which increases their chances. In the most recent polls, 60% of the vote is going to the opposition. This would be a landmark victory. President Erdogan has consolidated power across the country. The opposition are promising to turn it back into a parliamentary country—more secular.
