William Blair Investment Management portfolio manager Marcelo Assalin was quoted in a Pensions & Investments story focused on how institutional investors are looking at emerging markets debt instruments amid current macroeconomic conditions. Specifically, Assalin discussed how investors are returning to the asset class after being “underallocated” following a host of economic issues that devalued the investment.
“Over the past few years, institutional investors have reduced exposure to the asset class because of macro, top-down reasons ... but also because there were a lot of flows going into private credit,” Assalin told the publication.
