William Blair macro analyst Richard de Chazal was quoted by the Associated Press in its coverage of how ongoing trade policy uncertainty is shifting consumer sentiment and its overall impact on the retail sector.

“Consumers are only feeling a modest amount of pressure from tariffs, and any weakness here is not having much of an effect in forcing them to pull back on more discretionary areas of spending such as restaurants and bars,” de Chazal wrote in a note to investors that was cited by the publication.
