Community engagement is at the core of William Blair’s mission, reflecting a commitment to empowering colleagues, delivering client success, and uplifting the communities it serves. This past year, the firm’s collective efforts created a ripple effect of positive change, highlighting the power of collaboration and purpose.

Colleagues across the firm stepped up in extraordinary ways, dedicating their time, expertise, and passion to causes that matter most to them. Volunteer opportunities spanned the globe, with teams leading efforts to support local charities, the new 2025-2027 Global Community Partners, and Capital Collective initiatives.

The firm celebrated several milestones, including the second annual William Blair Cares Awards, an employee-led program that recognizes colleagues who go above and beyond in their volunteerism. These awards highlight the inspiring stories of individuals who invest their time and skills to make a difference, shining a light on the firm’s culture of giving back. The Capital Collective initiative helped launch a zero-interest microloan program for the YWCA Breedlove Accelerator and piloted a bridge grant to help an entrepreneur unlock a loan at First Women’s Bank. The firm also saw more colleagues than ever participating in matching gift programs and taking on nonprofit board leadership roles.

Department volunteer outings played a significant role in fostering community engagement in 2025. Teams came together to participate in hands-on activities, from organizing food drives and assembling care packages to mentoring students and revitalizing community spaces. These outings not only strengthened bonds among colleagues but also reinforced the firm’s commitment to making a tangible impact in the communities where they live and work.

Additionally, the firm celebrated the 15th anniversary of WrapUp London, a long-standing initiative that has provided warmth and comfort to those in need during the winter months, with HandsOn London. William Blair was the first corporate partner of WrapUp London and has been instrumental in the growth and success of this annual campaign. London teammates, along with hundreds of other volunteers, rallied together to collect, sort, and distribute over 14,000 coats to vulnerable individuals and families, ensuring that this milestone year was one of the most impactful yet. The continued success of WrapUp London is a testament to the firm’s employee-inspired charitable giving model and strength of its colleagues’ volunteer efforts.

“Our achievements this year were made possible by the leadership of the firm’s Community Impact Steering Committee and the dedication of Community Engagement Ambassadors, who guide and inspire the firm’s philanthropic efforts,” said Nancy Bonges, William Blair’s director of Community Engagement. “Their passion and commitment amplify the impact of William Blair’s mission to create meaningful change, and we couldn’t do it without them.”

As the firm looks ahead to this year, it remains inspired by the progress made and excited for the opportunities to continue making a difference. Together, William Blair and its colleagues are building a lasting legacy of impact.
