William Blair research analyst Trevor Romeo was quoted in a Barron’s story that focused on the opportunity that lies with equity investments in waste hauling and similarly related businesses.

“We currently see several offsetting headwinds and tailwinds across the solid waste space, as discussed below. In addition to commodity price headwinds, we believe relative stock underperformance in our solid waste names the past several weeks has been driven by investor rotation out of similar defensive growth names,” Romeo wrote in a note to investors that was cited by the publication.
