Solange-Marie Velazquez, a managing director in William Blair’s technology investment banking group, was named to Mergers & Acquisitions’ 2023 Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A list published February 27.
The list honors 18 women dealmakers in the M&A ecosystem who have significant influence inside their companies and in the wider middle-market dealmaking universe. They each also have an ongoing commitment to advance the state of women in financial services.
Velazquez, who joined William Blair in 2012, focuses on serving clients within the transportation technology subsector, originating and executing M&A transactions. She is also passionate about mentoring junior colleagues and implementing training strategies that provide young bankers with opportunities to grow within their current roles and beyond.
Velazquez has led several notable transactions during her more than 10 years at the firm, including the 2022 sale of Spireon to Solera, a deal that brings together two sophisticated providers of transportation technology.
In addition to her exceptional dealmaking work, she is a member of William Blair’s Community Impact Steering Committee, where she helps further the firm’s commitment to making a meaningful impact on organizations in the communities where we live and work.
