William Blair announced today the addition of Robert Engelhardt as a director in the firm’s Tech Enabled Services team. Based in Frankfurt, Engelhardt will provide comprehensive advisory resources to companies and financial sponsors throughout the DACH region and across Europe. His arrival reflects William Blair’s continued investment in tech enabled services following a record year for the firm’s work in the sector in Europe in 2025.
“Robert’s addition signals an important phase of William Blair’s European growth, as the firm continues to build out its services platform to capture substantial long-term opportunities in the DACH region and across Europe,” said Stewart Licudi, head of European Investment Banking at William Blair. “He brings extensive experience in the fast-paced corners of the tech enabled sector, which positions him as a valuable resource for deal origination, execution, and the delivery of sophisticated guidance to companies and financial sponsors.”
With more than a decade of investment banking experience, Engelhardt has worked across a range of industries, including professional services, environmental services, facility services, and specialty distribution. He joins from Harris Williams, where he developed his advisory experience following an earlier tenure at DC Advisory. Engelhardt received his Bachelor of Arts from the Munich Business School and a Master of Science in management from the ESCP Business School.
“William Blair has built one of Europe’s leading tech enabled services platforms, complemented by a strong U.S. presence and deep, long-standing relationships with strategic investors and financial sponsors,” Engelhardt said. “I’m pleased to join a highly accomplished team that works seamlessly across a global platform, maintaining a client-first approach to deliver thoughtful, sophisticated advice and support clients in achieving their long-term strategic objectives.”
Engelhardt’s addition builds on William Blair’s European momentum from 2025, which began with the naming of Stewart Licudi as head of European Investment Banking. The firm also brought on senior bankers in London, including Chris Bates, a Consumer Products & Services director; Tim-Oliver Seidel, who leads William Blair’s European secondaries team; and Delaney Brown, a senior director on the Private Capital Advisory team. The firm also named Daniel Nilsson managing director in the Financial Sponsors Group based in Stockholm and added João Fernandes in Madrid.
