About Matthew

Matthew Litfin, CFA, is a wealth advisor with the Fix Team in the Private Wealth Management group. Matt shares responsibilities for portfolio construction using William Blair’s award-winning equity research and identifying investment opportunities across all public securities and alternative investments.

Before joining the Fix Team, Matt led a 10-person U.S. investment team at Columbia Threadneedle and served as lead portfolio manager for multiple growth-oriented investment strategies. Before Columbia Threadneedle, Matt spent 18 years at William Blair, where he co-managed the small-mid cap growth strategy. Before becoming a portfolio manager, Matt headed the business services group as an equity research analyst, where he was twice named “Best on the Street” in the Wall Street Journal’s annual rankings for insightful stock picking.

Matt is currently a member of the Finance Department Advisory Council at the University of Tennessee, and he has previously held board positions with Wheaton Academy and Wheaton Police Pension Board. He occasionally teaches business-related classes as an adjunct professor at Wheaton College. Matt is also a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, the Executives’ Club of Chicago, and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Matt earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. (summa cum laude) from the University of Tennessee. He lives in Wheaton, Illinois, with his wife and three daughters. During his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and exercising.
